Cadastral Map

This is a cadastral map from 1908, of Dzbanov, which can be used today as sources for Family History Research.
These maps were a result of the first trigonometric allocation. In this map, all parcels were marked by topographic numbers and houses by house numbers. Cadastral maps show all houses, parcels, water areas and trails of particular villages. They are used for ownership purposes.

The largest distance between any two McDonalds is in South Dakota and it is 145 miles. This is a topographic map of Ha Ha Tonka State Park. This map uses contour lines to show the different elevations of the park.

Planimetric Map

This is an interesting surface map that I found of Manhattan, New York. Matthew Zook has made a map of all the registered .com domain names in Manhattan at the level of individual streets and neighborhoods. The blue dots represent clusters of domain names. This is a planimetric map because it shows everything except relief features, including edge of street pavement, vegetation, sidewalks, building footprints, etc.

Mental Map

This is a map of a tidal Island in Connemara off the coast of Galway in the west of Ireland. Sean Corcoran drew this map indicating spots of interest to him such as a "habitable house" and places to go swimming and snorkeling. He labeled parts of the island as the "heart" and the "soul." I thought this map was very artistic also practical. This is a mental map because it is a representation of how Sean viewed the area and mapped the locations that were memorable to him.
