Isoline

http://strangemaps.wordpress.com/2007/07/

These are both isoline maps of Redonda island. This island is known for being a micronation, first laid claim upon by Christopher Columbus in 1493 which he named Isla Santa Maria la Redonda. Coulumbus did not land on the island though, most likely because of the dangerous steep slope, the remnant of an extinct volcano's cone. The contour lines show this elevation. An isoline map is a map with continuous lines joining points at the same value.
